Naxos island combines the magnificence with the wild landscape, majestic view, healthy climate, peculiar architecture, nightlife and water sports.

Naxos island is famous for its agriculture, cattle breeding and the high quality of the local products. Some of the traditional products of Naxos are: olive, olive oil, jam, honey, raki, wine, cheese, graviera cheese, yogurt, citrus liquer, potatoes, fruits and vegetables.
The highest top of Cyclades is on Naxos island Mountain, is Zas (Zeus) 1.004m. Between to this top there are many famous traditional villages picturesque with magic view from the high hills.
The port of the island and the capital, is a typical Cycladic architecture style with a numerous of narrow streets and tiny passages.Town has the main life of the island and makes a very good resort.
Behind the waterfront an extensive, almost Medieval Old Quarter stretches up the hillside where is Kastro (Castle Area). Walking around Kastro you will discover the breathtaking views.
The old town up on the hill which is worth to visit divided into two neighbourhoods, Bourgos where the Naxian people lives and Kastro (Castle Area), where is the residence of the Venetian-Catholic people. |
